Bengals top Lions but injury, missed kicks cloud victory
DETROIT, Michigan – Jeremy Hill scored a touchdown running through a hole so big he might as well have been playing himself in Madden on rookie level. AJ McCarron found Tyler Boyd on his back shoulder for about as easy a pitch-and-catch as either may have all year. Derron Smith flashed across the face of Detroit Lions running back Zach Zenner for a pick-6 every defensive back dreams of.

Joe Goodberry joins me to breakdown both Bengals' preseason games. We discuss the early success of Tyler Boyd and Cody Core. Plus, he has a harsh reality for any of you who believe in Margus Hunt. I also ask him what player could be the surprise cut of camp. Listen to that and more below.

Quick hits: Fisher sprains ankle; No concern for Nugent; AJ finds Rex, Boyd; Pick-6 for Smith
It looks like the Bengals dodged another bullet at right tackle Thursday night, but they are not going to have Cedric Ogbuehi or Jake Fisher for the next few weeks. Fisher didn’t leave the Ford Field locker room after the 30-14 win over the Lions using the pair of crutches there were stashed in his locker. But he did leave in a boot with what Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis term "a sprained ankle," on the first snap of the second offensive series.

Hard shots, trash talk in Marvin Jones' Cincinnati Bengals reunion
One drive after Detroit Lions receiver Marvin Jones torched the Cincinnati Bengals secondary early in Thursday night's preseason game, he took a hard shove in the back from a player he used to battle regularly in practices: Adam Jones. As violent as the shove might have been, it barely bugged Marvin Jones.

NFL domestic violence stance isn't blanket policy you thought it was
immediately hailed as a strong response to a smoldering three-month fiasco. If only we had read it first. It's true that the policy calls for "a suspension without pay of six games for a first offense." But five additional words, appearing immediately thereafter, have proved to be just as important. It's why, on at least two occasions -- most recently this week with New York Giants kicker Josh Brown -- an NFL player has received less than a six-game punishment for domestic violence violations.

Keenan Lewis released by New Orleans Saints
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported the development, helping to explain Lewis' goodbye message Friday evening on Instagram. Lewis was limited to only six games last season because of surgeries for an MCL tear, torn labrum and sports hernia. Lewis was dealing with a hip problem this offseason.
