Keep track of every Bengals roster move leading up to the 2016 NFL season here:

The Bengals have placed William Jackson III and Cedric Peerman on Injured Reserve. In their place, Chykie Brown and Trey Hopkins have been added to the roster. Both Brown and Hopkins were released during Saturday's cuts and add to positions experiencing injuries. Browns will be added to the backend of the cornerback group while Hopkins is a guard who can also play tackle.

Bengals announce 2016 Practice Squad:

  • DE Ryan Brown (rookie, Mississippi State)
  • WR Jake Kumerow (first-year player, Wisconsin-Whitewater)
  • CB Darius Hillary (rookie, Wisconsin)
  • TE Matt Lengel (first-year player, Eastern Kentucky)
  • HB Tra Carson (rookie, Texas A&M)
  • DT David Dean (rookie, Virginia)
  • G Alex Redmond (rookie, UCLA)
  • CB Tony McRae (rookie, North Carolina A&T)
  • WR Alonzo Russell (rookie, Toledo)

**

Bengals surprisingly waived linebacker P.J. Dawson, a 2015 third round draft pick. If Dawson clears waivers, he'll be practice squad eligible.

**

The Bengals have claimed former 49ers quarterback Jeff Driskel off waivers. He is a rookie and was a sixth round Draft pick. The 49ers waived him on Saturday in the final roster cuts.

**

The Bengals have placed Marcus Hardison (second-year player, Arizona State, shoulder injury) on Injured Reserve. His 2016 season is now over.

**

  • The Bengals terminated the contract of vested veteran, CB Chykie Brown (fifth-year player, Texas) releasing him to free agency.
  • The Bengals placed one player on the Reserve/Suspended by Commissioner list: LB Vontaze Burfict (fifth-year player, Arizona State; out for Games 1-3 under NFL policy for rules violations).

The Bengals waived the following players:

  • DT David Dean (rookie, Virginia)
  • RB Tra Carson (rookie, Texas A&M)
  • OT Aaron Epps (rookie, Louisville)
  • G Trey Hopkins (second-year player, Texas)
  • TE Matt Lengel (first-year player, Eastern Kentucky)
  • CB Tony McRae (rookie, North Carolina A&T)
  • WR Alonzo Russell (rookie, Toledo)
  • WR Rashaun Simonise (rookie, Calgary)
  • G Trip Thurman (rookie, Florida)
  • OT John Weidenaar (rookie, Montana State)
  • QB Keith Wenning (first-year player, Ball State)
  • FB Andrew Bonnet (rookie, North Dakota State)

**

The Bengals waived WR Mario Alford (second-year player, West Virginia) from the Reserve/Injured list, with an injury settlement.

**

The Bengals are waiving running back Bronson Hill, a first year player who spent 2015 on a variety of different teams' practice squads.

**

The Bengals are waiving offensive lineman Alex Cooper, an undrafted rookie out of Houston.

**

The Bengals are releasing defensive end Ryan Brown, per the Enquirer. The Mississippi State product was an undrafted free agent acquisition this offseason and could be a target for the practice squad.

**

The Bengals are releasing cornerback Darius Hillary, to no surprise, per Jim Owczarski of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Hillary is the son of former Bengals wide receiver Ira Hillary. Hillary is practice squad eligible and could re-join the Bengals' via the practice squad tomorrow.

**

The Bengals have released wide receiver Jake Kumerow, per ESPN's Kat Terrell. He could return tomorrow on the practice squad.

**

The Bengals have released veteran safety Jimmy Wilson ahead of Saturday's deadline to cut the roster down to 75 players. Wilson joined the Bengals during training camp and was a long shot to make the roster. This likely means rookie safety Clayton Fejedelem has secured his place on the team.

**

The Bengals have placed rookie defensive tackle Andrew Billings on Injured/Reserve, ending his season. He will not be eligible to return at any point this season.

The Bengals also placed defensive tackle Brandon Thompson on the Physically Unable to Perform list. He is eligible to return after Week 6.

The Bengals Waived/Injured second year wide receiver Mario Alford. He will revert to IR if he clears waivers.

The Bengals released kicker Jon Brown who was on IR already. He is no longer part of the organization.

**

On Tuesday morning, the Bengals cut veteran wide receiver Brandon Tate.

In 2015, Tate had just two receptions for 59 yards including 1 touchdown. In the return game, he had 27 punt returns for 171 yards, 0 touchdowns, a long of 18 and a 6.3 yards per return average. On kick returns, Tate had 18 returns for 413 yards including a long of 58 and a 22.9 yards per kick return average. Tate is the Bengals' all-time leading punt returner. But, it seems the Bengals are opting for youth in Alex Erickson instead of keeping him.
