How to watch the Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony and game

NFL football is about to kick off in spectacular fashion as always. Don't miss it!

NFL: Super Bowl 50-Hall of Fame Class of 2016 Press Conference Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The start of the NFL preseason is finally right around the corner! That’s right, the first chance to watch NFL football players in action for 60 minutes in a game setting since the Super Bowl is this Sunday. And, the better news is that we won’t have another Sunday without football until February 2017. Ultimately, these preseason games won’t matter much to the final standings. But, for most football fans, it’s better than sitting around with no NFL football to watch whatsoever.

Since 1962, the NFL has held the Hall of Fame game every year in Canton, OH on the weekend of the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The game will air nation-wide as fans not only get an opportunity to see NFL football for the first time in months, but will also get a chance to watch the NFL celebrate veteran Hall of Famers as well as the 2016 inductees.

This year, those inductees include Brett Favre, Tony Dungy, Eddie DeBartolo Jr., Kevin Greene, Marvin Harrison, Ken Stabler, Dick Stanfel, and Orlando Pace.

The game will be played by the team that Favre built his legendary quarterback career with, the Green Bay Packers, facing off against the team that Dungy built his legendary head coach career with, the Indianapolis Colts. If you’re looking to watch the game or ceremony this weekend, which I’m sure you are, here are your options:

Sunday, Aug. 7th

This is where we get into real game action!

What: Hall of Fame Game featuring the Green Bay Packers facing off against the Indianapolis Colts to kick off the NFL preseason.
When: 8:00 p.m. ET
Where: Canton, OH
How to watch: ESPN
Streaming: ESPN App, Watch ESPN

There should be brief appearances at the beginning from star players like Andrew Luck, T.Y. Hilton, and Clay Matthews. Aaron Rodgers is reportedly not playing. For the most part, the game will feature backup and reserve players getting their chances to make their impressions on the Colts’ and Packers’ coaching staff, or any team watching game film for the players who are cut before the season starts.

If you happen to be in the Indianapolis area during the game, it will be broadcast on RTV6 (ABC), as it will be broadcast on WLUK FOX 11 in Green Bay. If you’ve been itching for some NFL football through this long offseason, you won’t want to miss any of the action!
