For football fans and players alike, Labor Day weekend is a bittersweet time. The sweet comes with the knowledge that the regular season is right around the corner and everyone gets a sense as to what the team will be looking like in the upcoming season as rosters are released. The bitter, of course, comes with seeing players leave and try to find a new job in the NFL. About 700 players are left unemployed after the weekend.
Shortly after we found out what the team’s current 53-man roster looked like, we took to Facebook Live to give our immediate reaction to the news and answer your questions. Many of you wanted injury updates, but others wanted to hear more about the roles of some new players on the roster.
Alex Erickson, whose prominent rise to the final roster became a big story, was one topic, as was Marcus Hardison’s landing on Injured Reserve and the possibility of the Bengals picking up more players to alter the roster over the weekend.
