New, comments

The Bengals had a surprise addition to the injury report today.

The Bengals are getting healthy at the right time as the regular-season opener is just a few days away. The only players who didn’t practice on Wednesday for the Bengals were Tyler Eifert, as expected and surprisingly Pat Sims. According to the Bengals’ first injury report of the season, released today, Sims is dealing with an achilles injury. The severity of the injury is unknown as is when it occurred. If Sims’ injury is serious, the Bengals will need to find another defensive lineman to add to the roster as they currently only have eight defensive linemen, including Sims.

The Jets had one starter who did not participate on Wednesday, outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins. Jenkins originally suffered what’s been referred to as a calf strain in a training camp practice on August 22. He hasn't practiced or played since, though, the injury was initially said to be minor.

Here’s the first Bengals and Jets injury reports of the season. The teams will also release injury reports on Thursday and Friday.
