The Cincinnati Bengals have announced their inactives list for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens and it includes everyone expected to be held out, plus a few other names.
For Cincinnati, the following players are out:
- Linebacker Vontaze Burfict
- Tight end Tyler Kroft
- Quarterback Jeff Driskel
- Defensive lineman Deshawn Williams
- Running back Jeremy Hill
- Wide receiver Jake Kumerow
- Offensive lineman Christian Westerman
You’ll notice that Clint Boling, Tyler Eifert, A.J. Green and Cedric Ogbuehi are not here. That’s because they were placed on Injured Reserve this week so that guys from the practice squad could be called up for the regular-season
That includes guard Trey Hopkins, wide receiver Jake Kumerow, linebackers P.J. Dawson and Trevor Roach and running back Tra Carson, the latter of whom joined the roster due to Jeremy Hill being questionable with a knee injury. As expected, Hill is out today, which means Rex Burkhead will be the starting running back with Carson and Cedric Peerman behind him. Hill has been battling a variety of games this season, but this is the first game he’s missed.
Dawson, Roach and Carson are active for today’s game, while Kumerow is not as the No. 6 wide receiver.
With Ogbuehi (shoulder) now on I.R., Andrew Whitworth is back to starting at left tackle. Starting at left guard will be T.J. Johnson, who has played both center and guard in his three-year stint with the Bengals. He’ll be a restricted free agent this offseason, so how well he does today could help determine what level of tender Cincinnati offers him, if any at all.
The Bengals chose to make rookie Christian Westerman inactive after he was active for his first NFL game last week. He did not take the field in last week’s game and as offensive lineman don’t really play on special teams, as the last ranking offensive lineman on the depth chart, he’s inactive for the final game of the season. Interestingly, backup lineman Trey Hopkins, who was brought up from the practice squad this week, is active for the game.
At tight end, C.J. Uzomah gets the starting nod with Tyler Kroft (knee/ankle) out and Eifert on I.R. Uzomah did well last week in Houston, and he’ll likely have a big role in the offense today with so many offensive players out.
For the Ravens, the following players are inactive:
- Linebacker Lamar Louis
- Tight end Crockett Gillmore
- Guard Ryan Jensen
- Tackle Ricky Wagner
- Running back Javorius Allen
- Wide receiver Keenan Reynolds
- Wide receiver Vince Mayle
None of these players are any surprise with most of the inactive players either coming into this game on the injury report or regularly inactive even when healthy. Starting linebacker Zach Orr (neck) and starting right tackle Ricky Wagner (concussion), both will miss today.’s game. Cornerback Jimmy Smith was also added to I.R. this week.
The only question was starting guard Alex Lewis, who was listed as questionable with an ankle injury. He practiced fully all three days last week, and is active for today’s game.
