The Bengals’ 2016 season is officially over. We can put behind us Tyler Eifert’s ankle and back injuries, A.J. Green’s great start to the season, which unfortunately ended with a hamstring injury. There’s the 6-9-1 record to forget, and tons of missed opportunities. Missed opportunities are in fact the biggest takeaway from this losing season. In the Bengals' last five losses of the season (every loss since the bye week) the team lost by a combined 16 points. That’s an average of 3.2 points per loss.
But, lost in the unfortunate outcome of the season were a few positive moments for the Bengals. Green’s hail mary touchdown against the Browns was a highlight. Beating the Ravens today to start off 2017 on a high note was another. Unfortunately, there weren’t all too many of those types of positive moments to work off of.
