Dre Kirkpatrick jokes with NFL fans about free agency

Kirkpatrick to the Rams? He says, no thanks.

NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Dre Kirkpatrick is always vocal on Twitter, where he often engages in conversation with Bengals fans.

He was chatting up some fans over the weekend, and both the topics of free agency and the Bengals making it back to the postseason in 2017 came up.

“So, what do you think abut (sic) next year? Will you guys make a run,” a Bengals fan asked.

“Well technically I’m unemployed,” Kirkpatrick responded, referencing his impending free agency. Kirkpatrick is set to hit free agency for the first time in his NFL career this March.

Then, a Rams fan got involved, telling Kirkpatrick he should play for the Los Angeles Ram next season...

But, apparently, Kirkpatrick isn’t interested in that, as he responded, “I wanna win”.

The Rams were 4-12 in 2016, and have new coaches for next season. Sean McVay was named as their new head coach, the youngest head coach in the NFL at 30 (he turns 31 this month). But, the defense should be strong with Wade Phillips coming in as defensive coordinator, boasting 40 years of NFL experience. The Rams already had an impressive defense this season, which was key in their only four wins, and Phillips should further help the unit. But, if you want Kirkpatrick to remain in Cincinnati (and personally, I do), let’s not tell him all of this. That makes for one less team to compete for Kirkpatrick’s services this offseason.

If the Bengals fail to re-sign Kirkpatrick before the new league year kicks off on March 7, expect him to get considerably attention from cornerback-needy teams around the league.
