With the Divisional Round of the 2017 NFL playoffs behind us, four more teams have been added to the order for the first round of this year’s NFL Draft.
After last week’s Wild Card round, the Lions, Dolphins, Giants and Raiders were slotted in at picks 21-24 respectively. As the team with the worst regular season record that lost in the divisional round, the Texans have the 25th pick in the Draft. Behind them are the Seahawks, Chiefs and Cowboys, in that order. All four lost in the Divisional Round of the playoffs this weekend.
The Bengals will be picking No. 9 overall, which has been set since the end of the regular season. It will be the Bengals’ best pick since taking A.J. Green with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and Dre Kirkpatrick with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. The pick used to draft Kirkpatrick didn’t come because of the Bengals finishing outside of the playoffs though, it was a result of the Carson Palmer trade. Until this year, the Bengals hadn’t missed the playoffs during the Green/Andy Dalton era in Cincinnati.
