Two days after Adam Jones was arrested for a variety of alleged crimes, including three misdemeanors and a felony, more details behind the incident are emerging.
TMZ Sports has released audio of the 911 call made while Jones was allegedly banging on hotel room doors at the Millennium Hotel in Cincinnati. When security came to check out the situation, Jones allegedly pushed and poked a hotel security employee in the eye, which caused the hotel to call the police. You can listen to the full audio here, which is mostly of a security guard at said hotel speaking with a 911 operator.
While the security guard is speaking on the phone, you can hear a man yelling in the background. It’s unclear if it is Jones, but the guard does say a Bengals play is “causing a lot of ruckus down here”
“He’s harassing me, coming into the hotel harrassing me,” the hotel employee who made the 911 said.
The hotel security guard who made the call also said that another person was with Jones, though that person was never identified. The details surrounding Jones’ arrest look bad enough, so this audio doesn’t make things look any better, especially since he has denied the charges.
After police were called, things only got worse when Jones allegedly resisted arrest, and kicked and head butted police officers in the process. He then also allegedly spit on a jail nurse and jail guard during normal booking procedures.
Jones later had to be placed in a restraint chair due to his behavior once in custody. He has since been released from jail and is free to go about his business until he appears before a grand jury on Jan. 13 at 10:30 a.m. He has apologized to his fans, but says “none of this makes sense”.
We’ll continue to update this situation as more details are released.
