The Bengals have been locked into the No. 9 overall spot in the 2017 NFL Draft for a week now, but with each passing playoff game, more teams will be added into the draft order, based on their finishing position in the playoffs.
After the Raiders’ loss to the Texans and the Lions’ loss to the Seahawks, the current No. 21 and No. 22 spots in the 2017 NFL Draft belong to the Lions and Raiders respectively. The Raiders’ 12-4 record gives them the lower pick than the Lions, who finished with a 9-7 regular season record. The Lions are now locked into the No. 21 pick.
2017 will be the first year since the 2012 NFL Draft that the Raiders will pick in the bottom half of the first round. For the Raiders, they currently own the No. 22 pick, but that will change to pick No. 24 as only the Patriots and Cowboys finished the season with better records than the Raiders. Those two teams have round 1 byes, meaning they can't be eliminated this weekend. So, by the end of Sunday, the Raiders will have the No. 24, not No. 22 overall pick in the draft, as they have a better regular-season record than all remaining playoff teams.
