Just like sin, there must be something appealing with making the wrong picks, because we made them in abundance in Week 6. We all missed the Dolphins winning in Atlanta, the Steelers winning in Kansas City, and the Giants winning in Denver. And almost all of us failed to predict Aaron Rodgers getting injured, and the Vikings subsequently pulling off the home upset over Green Bay.
Only three of us were able to get more games correct than we missed, and that was just barely, with John S, Braden, and myself finishing with an 8-6 mark for Week 6. It was downhill from there, bottoming out with 4-10 marks by both Patrick Judis and Anthony.
With such a down week, nobody really moved “up” in the standings, although some people moved “down”. Overall, after six weeks, here are our cumulative standings with John Sheehan still holding a lead over the field:
- John S 58-33
- Jason 54-37
- Scott 53-38
- Braden 52-39
- John A 51-40
- Alberto 50-41
- Mason 50-41
- Patrick J 46-45
- Anthony 45-46
- Andrew H 44-47
Hopefully you weren’t making any friendly wagers based on our Week 6 predictions. If so, you probably lost your bet. As a whole, we finished 62-78 with our picks, and 73 percent of us failed to get more games right than wrong. But Week 7 is a new week, and so the weekly slate is wiped clean. We get a chance to amend our errors of last week and resolve to make accurate selections this week. Here are our latest attempts to walk down the path of right picks:

We all like the Vikings at home to defeat the Ravens as our only unanimous home victor. We also like the Seahawks, Jaguars and Cowboys as unanimous road winners. The Eagles, Titans, and Chiefs have near unanimous support, and it took seven weeks, but we are finally ending our unanimous support for the Patriots.
