The Cincinnati Bengals and Vontaze Burfict appear to have dodged a bullet with the linebacker’s latest infraction.
Burfict is in danger of being penalized by the NFL for unnecessary acts related to player safety, stemming from Sunday’s 29-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Burfict had several seemingly-minor incidents during the game, which included what looked like a kick from Burfict to the head of Steelers fullback Roosevelt Nix.
However, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that Burfict will not be suspended for his actions.
#Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict’s apparent kick from his back to be reviewed for discipline in the standard process, source said. No suspension

That would seem to indicate Burfict is in the clear with only a possible fine coming. The kick looked bad, but still not enough to warrant a suspension.
After the game, Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell voiced his displeasure with Burfict on Twitter:
man dude gotta go man...that’s not football AT ALL!! https://t.co/IFbNZPZtWR

Alas, it seems as though Burfict will escape with nothing more than a fine and be eligible to play in Week 8 versus the Indianapolis Colts, which has become a must-win game for the Bengals to have any hope of making the playoffs.
