The Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts each have their fair share of injured players heading into their Week 8 matchup.
For the Bengals, it’s mostly the same group of players that were out last week, including Tyler Boyd and Ryan Hewitt. Both of their injuries were projected to sideline them for multiple weeks, so there’s no telling when either will return, but it looks like Week 8 is too soon.
Also absent Wednesday was starting linebacker Kevin Minter. He left Sunday’s loss in Pittsburgh with an elbow injury. The Bengals are being mum on his status, but he wasn’t even present Wednesday, so it looks like this may be a multi-week injury.
Backup receiver Cody Core was unable to go Wednesday as he’s now in the NFL concussion protocol. If he’s out this week along with Boyd, that could mean bigger roles for rookies Josh Malone and/or John Ross.
As for the Colts, they continue to be without star quarterback Andrew Luck, who is recovering from a shoulder injury that has him looking doubtful to play in Week 8.
Also absent Wednesday was starting center Ryan Kelly, starting cornerback Vontae Davis, starting cornerback Rashaan Melvin starting linebacker John Simon and starting safety Darius Butler. Seeing all of those defensive backs possibly out has A.J. Green licking his chops for this matchup.
