The Bengals and A.J. Green caught a break after the receiver wasn’t suspended for his actions against the Jaguars.

Update: A.J. Green has been fined $42,000 for his fight with Jalen Ramsey in the Bengals vs Jaguars Week 9 game. He will not be appealing, which he said on Sunday and again today. He said he is accepting his punishment.

The Cincinnati Bengals will have A.J. Green for their Week 10 matchup with the Tennessee Titans. On Monday, the league announced that Green would not be suspended for his actions on Sunday.

Right at the end of the first half of Cincinnati’s matchup with Jacksonville on Sunday, Green got into a fight with Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey, which led to both players being ejected.

Green absolutely unloaded on Ramsey, putting him in a headlock, throwing him to the ground and landing several punches before being restrained. It led to both players being kicked out of the game and sent to the postgame locker rooms.

Green’s actions are still being reviewed for a possible fine, so he still could get hit hard in the wallet, but it looks like he won’t miss any game time. The NFL fines listing indicates Green should be fined $30,387 for a first time fight.

Ironically, Green wasn’t the only superstar receiver to fight in Week 9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans was suspended for one game after he punched New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore from behind after the defender got into an exchange with Jameis Winston. There were also players ejected in the Cardinals-49ers game for fighting.

The difference with Evans was he did not get ejected for fighting, so the league felt it was necessary to suspend him for one game as adequate punishment. Green was ejected from his game and missed the entire second half. Therefore, the league did not feel he needed to be suspended for another game.
