NFL Week 10 pick ‘em: A new weekly winner

After trailing the pack for two months, Anthony emerges as our weekly winner

NFL: Preseason-Cincinnati Bengals at Jacksonville Jaguars Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

In Week 9 our selections turned out better than the Bengals performance, but at this point that doesn’t really mean a whole lot. The big winner for the week was Anthony, who has been trailing the pack for a while. He went 10-3, and was followed closely behind by Scott, who finished the week at 9-4. The rest of the group got 6, 7, or 8 games correct.

We all correctly picked the Rams, Eagles, and Saints to win. But we all missed on the Texans and Seahawks - although we did make our selections before the Texans quarterback went down for the season.

After nine weeks of NFL football, here are the updated standings:

  • John S. … 87 - 45
  • Scott … 82 - 50
  • Jason … 82 - 50
  • Braden … 79 - 53
  • Mason … 77 - 55
  • Alberto … 77 - 55
  • John A. … 77 - 55
  • Patrick … 73 - 59
  • Andrew … 72 - 60
  • Anthony … 63 - 54

John S still holds the top spot, with Jason and Scott leading the chase group, with three stragglers looking for a big week to jump back into contention.

There are six games where we are unanimous in our support. We all like the road Seahawks to win in Arizona, and the road Patriots to win in Denver. We also picked the road Steelers to win in Indianapolis, so we “like” them to win, but we don’t “like” them. We also gave full support to the home Panthers, Rams, and Lions.

We nearly gave full support to the Jaguars at home, coming off their beatdown of the Bengals, and we nearly gave our full support of the Jets (really, the Jets) over the Buccaneers without Jameis Winston and Mike Evans.
