The Cincinnati Bengals just can’t seem to get out of their own way.

Whether it’s losing a tight contest at home against a hated division rival on national television, or getting embarrassed by an inferior opponent on the same home turf, 2017 hasn’t brought any more positive vibes from the mess that was the 2016 season.

On this week’s episode of The Orange and Black Insider, Scott Schulze and I look at some of the peculiar comments and actions made by this embattled coaching staff. Are these lazy, last-ditch efforts from Marvin Lewis as he is on his way to retirement, or does he really believe these certain actions to be true and in the best interest of this football team?

There’s no doubt that a rebuilding process needs to take place this offseason in an effort to get the Bengals back to respectability. In the first installment of a mini-series we’re starting, we look at the steps the franchise needs to take if they want to be back in the club of the league’s winningest teams.
