Bengals injury news: Andrew Billings suffers leg injury vs Vikings

The Bengals’ depleted defense gets thinner.

NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

It took all of one drive for the Cincinnati Bengals to lose another defensive player.

On the Vikings’ opening possession, they marched right down the field and scored a touchdown on a Latavius Murray run at the goal line. It was a drive that featured 35 rushing yards, something that Andrew Billings could ideally help stop.

However, the starting nose tackle suffered a leg injury midway through the drive. Billings was down on his back and holding his right leg after a play, then was escorted to the sideline for further examinations.

If Billings is out, that means Pat Sims, Ryan Glasgow and Geno Atkins are the only true defensive tackles left, though Michael Johnson has spent a lot of time here this season.

Billings is having a so-so season, though it’s effectively his rookie year after missing all of 2016 with a knee injury.

We’ll keep you posted as more details on this injury come out...
