Bengals lose George Iloka to shoulder injury vs Vikings

The Bengals can’t seem to catch a break in Minnesota.

The Cincinnati Bengals are getting decimated against the Minnesota Vikings, both on the scoreboard and the injury front.

The latest player to go down is starting safety George Iloka, who suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter. It came on a deep pass by Case Keenum that Iloka read perfectly down the sideline, broke on the ball and nearly made a diving interception.

But as Iloka hit the ground, the ball popped out, and he apparently injured his shoulder in the process. It initially looked like he may be able to return, but the team later announced his return was doubtful.

Part of that could have been due to the Bengals getting blown out so quickly, as the Vikings led 24-0 midway through the second quarter. There’s no sense in risking Iloka’s health at this point.

This also means Clayton Fejedelem, Josh Shaw and Brandon Wilson will get more snaps at safety for the rest of this game.

We will update this post if any more details become available...
