Lions at Bengals injury report: Vontaze Burfict and Dre Kirkpatrick limited

Two players recovering from concussions were able to practice Thursday, but not enough to feel good about their chances of playing Sunday.

The Cincinnati Bengals are getting healthier ahead of their matchup with the Detroit Lions.

Thursday marked the long-awaited return of Vontaze Burfict and Dre Kirkpatrick, who had been in the NFL concussion protocol since suffering their concussions in Week 13. However, both players were limited participants on Thursday, so their status for Sunday is still murky at best.

Joe Mixon continued to practice on Thursday as he also recovers from his concussion. The star rookie practiced last week before ultimately missing the loss at Minnesota. He should be ready to rock against Detroit this coming Sunday.

Vincent Rey (mouth), Darqueze Dennard (knee), Shawn Williams (hamstring) and George Iloka (shoulder) were all limited for a second-straight day. Their status for Sunday will largely depend on how well they look Friday, even though it’s more of a glorified walkthrough.

On Detroit’s side, most of their 53-man roster is still healthy enough to practice. However, the Lions were still without T.J. Lang (foot) and Travis Swanson (concussion) on Thursday, so it looks like they could be down two starting linemen. Starting tackle Ricky Wagner was limited again with an ankle injury, so he could be sidelined as well.
