The Bengals have announced that Vontaze Burfict is out for the rest of the game with a shoulder injury.

The Cincinnati Bengals have more linebackers to injury.

Late in the second quarter of their matchup with the Detroit Lions, Jordan Evans was injured while attempting to make a tackle. It was actually friendly fire, as Evans was struck by Vontaze Burfict in the head while both players were attempting to tackle Lions receiver Kenny Golladay.

After the two collided, Evans was lying motionless on the ground for several seconds before being attended to by trainers. After a few minutes, Evans eventually got up and walked off the field to be further examined.

But one play later, Burfict was injured while attempting to sack Matthew Stafford on a pass rush. Burfict hit Stafford as he was releasing the ball, which led to an interception by Vincent Rey.

However, Burfict was favoring his shoulder after the play. He walked to the sideline to be examined by trainers before being sent to the locker room.

The team has since announced that Evans is out for the game, while Burfict is doubtful to return.

If Evans and Burfict miss the rest of the game, the Bengals will be down to Hardy Nickerson and Rey at linebacker.
