Carlos Dunlap is moving up in the Cincinnati Bengals’ record books.
Early in the team’s Week 13 matchup with the Steelers, the Pro Bowl defensive end notched a third-down sack on Ben Roethlisberger to force a punt. Not only was it a big play in what’s usually a close, hard-fought rivalry game, but it also tied him for second all-time in franchise history for sacks.
Dunlap entered the game with 61.5 career sacks, one shy of linebacker Reggie Williams for second place on the all-time list. Defensive end Eddie Edwards (83.5) is the Bengals’ all-time leader, but it looks like his record is very much in danger if Dunlap plays for several more years in Cincinnati.
Earlier this season, Dunlap passed defensive end Ross Browner (59) for third place all-time in a week 10 win at Denver.
Dunlap isn’t the only Bengals pass-rusher moving up on this list. Defensive tackle Geno Atkins has 58.5 career sacks, a half a sack shy of Browner (59) for third place all-time.
Dunlap claimed the Bengals’ record for most sacks in one season in 2015 with 13.5.
