UPDATE 2
Vontaze Burfict re-injured his arm in the fourth quarter. He was forced to the sideline in obvious pain while being examined by trainers.
Thankfully, Burfict returned to the game after taking just a couple of plays off.
UPDATE 1
Vontaze Burfict returned to the game, so it looks like this was nothing major.
The Cincinnati Bengals have suffered yet another injury at linebacker.
This time, it was Vontaze Burfict that injured his left arm in the third quarter of Cincinnati’s matchup with the Steelers. It came as Burfict was trying to make a tackle and ran into Darqueze Dennard, injuring his arm in the process.
Burfict went down on a knee so trainers could examine him before he walked off the field.
A few plays after Burfict went out of the game, the Steelers scored a touchdown on a checkdown to Le’Veon Bell. It was a play Burfict would have likely been covering Bell on.
If Burfict is out for the rest of the game, this is a brutal loss for the Bengals, as he’s easily their best defender this season, not to mention someone who calls a lot of the defense.
Burfict would also join Adam Jones on the sideline, as the latter is out with a groin injury suffered in the first quarter. Linebackers Nick Vigil and Vincent Rey were already inactive for this game with injuries.
