O’Connor wasn’t discussed as one of the top quarterbacks coming into the draft, but he boasts impressive arm strength that warrants a look. Although, it will be difficult to earn a spot with the team behind Dalton, McCarron, and Driskel.
O’Connor threw for 1,970-yards in 2016 and threw 16 touchdown passes compared to nine interceptions. Maybe the more impressive trait O’Connor possesses is his intelligence. O’Connor boasts two college degrees, so he has a backup plan if it doesn’t work out with the Bengals. We’ll see if he can impress the coaches enough to earn him a job in the NFL, though, it will be hard with Andy Dalton, AJ McCarron and Jeff Driskel currently ahead of him on the depth chart.
