Michigan State WR Monty Madaris joins Bengals as UDFA

The Cincy native looks to begin his NFL career in the Queen City.

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to an undrafted free agent deal with Michigan State wide receiver Monty Madaris. This is contingent on him passing a physical once in Cincinnati.

Madaris is a Cincinnati native who caught 24 passes for 310 yards and one score this past season. Part of his lack of production was due to the Spartans having quarterback issues and changeups throughout the season. He caught just seven balls in his previous two seasons combined.

With John Ross, Tyler Boyd, Alex Erickson, Cody Core, Josh Malone, and Brandon LaFell already in Cincinnati, Madaris will have a tough time cracking the 53-man roster this year, but perhaps he'll make it on the practice squad with a good showing in the preseason.

But for now, Madaris is seeing his NFL dreams realized.
