The Orange and Black Insider Bengals podcast: Runnin’ down a dream

On this week’s episode, we look at some of the major running back prospects, while asking the question of if the team should be hoarding all 11 of the draft picks.

As the weeks roll on this spring, it gets oh-so-close to the NFL Draft at the end of this month. With 11 picks at their disposal and their penchant for relying on the festivities to build their roster, it really becomes the Cincinnati Bengals’ culmination of their offseason.

On this week’s episode of The Orange and Black Insider, Connor Howe, Scott Schulze and I talked about some of the possibilities at running back the team could be looking at with those 11 picks. We also talked about the idea of the team moving up and sacrificing some of those selections in doing so.

Will the team have room on the active roster and/or practice squad for 11 new faces? Wouldn’t they be better served to maximize the potential of this draft by maneuvering up to get some talented youngsters that have a chance to play right away? If they do, it will be a major changing of their M.O., as they have only traded up three times in the NFL Draft in the franchise’s history.

And, as always (well, almost), we answered listener questions that were sent our way. Whether it was in mid-round sleepers, some positions and players the Bengals could draft that may be surprising, as well some rookies who could be long-term replacements to Kevin Zeitler at guard.

Oh, and after all of our recent urging him to get into social media, we finally revealed that Scott has actually had a Twitter account all along. We’re creating a contest, of sorts, to see how many followers he can get until the next episode. Join the contest and give him a follow @smackabees.
