Last week, when guest co-hosting on The Orange & Black Insider, we wrapped up the show by discussing my non-existent interest in TV shows and movies. I couldn’t come up with a favorite current movie or TV show to share with our listeners, but, what I should have said was, “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party”. The hilarious “cooking” show features Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg as they make dinner for a few guests in front of a live studio audience. I put cooking in quotes because the show actually features very little cooking and it’s more just Martha and Snoop joking around, drinking and eating.

My first job out of college was working for Martha Stewart’s magazine, Martha Stewart Living so I’m drawn to things she’s doing and the mix of her and Snoop together is really entertaining. (If you saw the Justin Bieber roast, you’d likely agree.)

So, imagine my reaction when I found out Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones and his wife Trish are trying to join in as guests on the show! The show features two guests in each episode, one who helps Snoop cook a meal and the other who helps Martha. Snoop’s meals are typically pretty makeshift while Martha’s are, as you can imagine, Martha Stewart-esque.

Per the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals cornerback and his wife have been invited to appear on the show by Snoop Dogg himself. When asked what he’s going to be doing in the five weeks before training camp begins, Jones’ response was in regards to making an appearance on the show:

Adam Jones and his wife, Tish, are planning on making it to a taping of “Potluck Dinner Party,” the VH1 cooking show hosted by Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg. When the rapper was in town performing at River Bend in late April, he invited Jones to come on after the cornerback bragged about his wife’s skills in the kitchen.

“I’m sure looking forward to it,” Jones said. “My wife can cook anything but it’s got to be within the show time so we’ll figure it out.”

If you think you know what Martha Stewart is like in real life, this show may change your mind. Rappers like Rick Ross have come on the show and flirted with her without end... And she certainly reciprocated, whether for the cameras or not.

It sounds like season two of the show wrapped up production (it premiers on October 16), so it's unclear if Jones really will be taking part in the show anytime soon. If Jones does in fact make an appearance on the show, I’m going to guarantee it will be must-see TV.
