Cincinnati Bengals training camp: Live updates from Day 2

Follow along here for updates straight from the Bengals’ training camp practice fields!

The Cincinnati Bengals take the field for Day 2 of training camp on Saturday and it’s sure to be an exciting and action-packed afternoon.

The pads won’t be coming on until tomorrow, but in the meantime, we’ll get to see some light work, seven-on-seven drills, special teams work and more football fun as the team takes the field.

There were two injuries on Friday, one to wide receiver Jake Kumerow, who sprained his left ankle and the other to Stanley “Boom” Williams, who suffered from cramps. Both of those guys will likely be sidelined on Saturday.

The Bengals made two roster moves on Saturday morning. One was waiving wide receiver Monty Madaris, who was already on the Active/PUP list. If he clears waivers (which he likely will) he’ll land on the Bengals’ Reserve/PUP list. The other was signing free agent rookie receiver Levonte Whitfield. The Florida State product went undrafted this spring and was signed and waived by the Chicago Bears after the draft. He’ll now attempt to make an impact in a crowded Bengals receiver room.

Today’s practice begins at 3:00 and is expected to run through 4:45, though yesterday the team started early and ended late.
