Vontaze Burfict pick-six highlights first half of Bengals vs Redskins action

Burfict is making the preseason fun, you guys.

If you’re going to play preseason football as an NFL veteran, you might as well have fun, right?

Vontaze Burfict is doing just that.

In Sunday afternoon’s Cincinnati Bengals vs Washington Redskins preseason game, Burfict picked off Kirk Cousins and brought it back to the endzone for a touchdown.

After scoring, Burfict jumped into the stands and waved to his fans (cough, haters) in Washington. It was fun. As a Bengals fan, you have to love it. As a fan of any other team, probably not. It wouldn’t be surprising if Burfict was fined for his elongated celebration in the Redskins’ stands.

Burfict was having a phenomenal game before going down on the field shortly after the pick-six. He went down on the field and was being evaluated for a back injury and concussion. He was initially deemed probable to return, but that was downgraded to questionable.

Before exiting the game, Burfict had 3 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle, plus the interception, which was return for 62 yards and a touchdown.

Let’s hope Burfict is OK because he was clearly a man on a mission before the injury and looking the best we’ve seen yet this year. The Bengals’ defense was also looking unstoppable with him in the game, and then gave up a touchdown shortly after he exited the contest.
