The Cincinnati Bengals’ season opener was as disappointing as a Week 1 matchup could be. Not only did the Bengals lose, but they were shut out.
Zero points were scored in an atrocious effort by the Bengals’ offense. The defense actually wasn’t bad, considering the situations the offense continually put them in. However, the Bengals are now 0-1 and have a short week before hosting the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football.
A national audience will be watching on Thursday and the Bengals’ offense better figure out how to look a hell of a lot better in Week 2 than it did in Week 1. That starts with Andy Dalton not throwing four interceptions and fumbling the ball.
Dalton was the biggest issue on Sunday in Cincinnati and the boo birds were out in full force. Expect the AJ McCarron fans to be making an appearance all around the internet this week. But don’t expect McCarron to be starting anytime soon in Cincinnati.
Here’s a roundup of social media reactions to the Bengals’ 20-0 loss to the Ravens in Week 1.
Marv: its as disappointing as it can be

Game honestly felt a lot like the Denver loss last year, Burfict came back four days later and they bounced back. Unlikely to happen again.

Fact: The Bengals looked like they hadn't played football since 2009
And once again, the PBS escalator becomes the L-scalator! The final score on Opening Day of the 2017 season: Ravens 20, Bengals 0.

That was one of the worst displays of pro football we've seen in Cincinnati in a long, long time. Reminds me of the Shula/LeBeau era.

Guys, don't worry. We have Houston next on a Thursday night primetime game. Can't get worse than this. #BALvsCIN

Bengals and Cardinals big Week 1 disappointments. Like both for wild cards, but today was a very ugly start.

We've talked about the NFL's offensive line crisis a lot lately. Was clearly there today in problems for the Texans and Bengals.

Here's a cool plan: Lose your franchise LT and RG. Don't sign a starter in free agency to replace them. Ignore OL in the draft.
