Immediate reactions to Bengals’ Week 1 loss vs Ravens

The Bengals lost to the Ravens in embarrassing fashion on Sunday in Cincinnati.

Bengals lose home opener to Ravens, 20-0.

Was there a worse possible way for the Cincinnati Bengals to start their season? Cincinnati looked forward to hosting a season opener for the first time since 2009, but their 20-0 loss to their division rival Baltimore Ravens was a bitter homecoming.

Many of the criticisms and fears for the 2017 Bengals’ squad popped up in the loss. Offensive line issues, Andy Dalton getting skittish and a lack of big plays defined the Bengals, as they put forth an embarrassing effort.

On offense, the Bengals couldn’t do much of anything. Even with the trio of talented running backs and a stable of solid wide receivers, Cincinnati couldn’t get much of anything going, mostly thanks to a career-worst day from Dalton.

While it shouldn’t be time for fans to be calling for AJ McCarron, there are a number of questions surrounding the Bengals’ offense. Can the team rebound on that side of the ball quickly against the Houston Texans on Thursday night?

Among the questions surrounding the team is the offensive line. Can Ken Zampese right the ship against a solid Houston defense? Is Week 1 nothing more than an aberration?
