Cincinnati Bengals fans who have been screaming for change finally saw one of their wishes fulfilled Friday afternoon when the Bengals announced the firing of offensive coordinator Ken Zampese.
Quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor, a former offensive coordinator with the Miami Dolphins, takes over the play-calling duties for a team that became the first since the 1939 Philadelphia Eagles to start the season with two home games and fail to score a touchdown.
How did fans react to the firing and what do you think? Should this be just the beginning of wholesale changes?
Here is a sampling of some of the reactions. Tell us what you think as you complete the poll at the end of this article, and add your own comments.
I have to say the Lions got back in track changing OC midseason two seasons ago... fwiw

He was standing in the end zone, so they never got to him. https://t.co/q0Wij1VNDM

Head coach needs to go too, as a lifelong Bengals fan I am so glad I have taken a knee on the NFL for another year.

"Bill Lazor has some big shoes to fill!" said no one ever.

Yes. Too bad they couldn't have just swapped Zampese and Lazor's roles though.

Yes, but Bill Lazor, the guy who got fired in Miami for the same thing, is not the answer.

Not gonna argue he needed to go but that's still not gonna help Dalton throw junk passes to open receivers

Its not just the play calling, the offensive line is an absolute disgrace....and Dalton is NOT making throws

While getting Zampese out and Lazor in is a nice start, some fans think it’s time for Andy Dalton to get benched in favor of AJ McCarron.

Andy Dalton's 5 favorite play calls:

1. Heave it up to AJ Green
2. INT
3. Incomplete pass to AJ Green

Would a Dalton INT followed by booing followed by a shot of AJ McCarron followed by a shot of catatonic Marvin Lewis be too much to ask?
