Bengals injury news: Tyler Eifert dealing with 2 injuries heading into Week 3 vs Packers

Tyler Eifert is banged up, though it doesn’t appear either injury is serious.

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert is hurt yet again.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Eifert is dealing with back and knee issues that could sideline him in Week 3. As of now, it’s “uncertain” if he’ll play on Sunday versus the Green Bay Packers.

This would help explain why Eifert is off to such a slow start, though a lot of that has to do with the struggles of the offensive line, Andy Dalton and former offensive coordinator Ken Zampese. Even so, Eifert has performed well in bad situations before, so it’s concerning to see he has just four catches for 46 yards after two games.

Eifert was reportedly dealing with knee tendinitis in the preseason, which led to him being held out of the third and fourth preseason games (though, most starters sat out of the final preseason game).

We will update this as more details on Eifert’s injury come out.
