NFL Week 3 pick ‘em: Still picking the Bengals to win?

Who are you predicting to win each of the 16 NFL games this week? Here are our predictions across the slate of games.

There’s not much wrong with being a homer and picking your favorite team to win. But sometimes common sense will do its best to wreck such intentions. Last week, nine of us picked the Bengals to win against the Texans, thinking that picking our team and picking the best team could coexist. Sadly, we were mistaken. But despite missing the Bengals game, we did get many other picks correct.

In Week 2 Scott Schulze (oh, that’s me!) led the way with a 13-3 mark, thanks to being only one of a few to choose the well rested Dolphins over the Chargers and the home team Broncos over a Cowboys team trying to recapture last year’s magic. Four others followed close behind at 12-4. It was a good week all around, with nobody finishing worse than 10-6.

In Week 1 the Cincy Jungle contributors went 100-80 with their weekly picks. In Week 2 they drastically improved to 125-51. Chalk it up to more favorites winning, better skill, or just dumb luck, but a win is a win. After two weeks we are a closely bunched group, as I lead the way.

Cincy Jungle Week 3 picks

In all, just less than half of us picked the Bengals to win this week. Our support has dropped from 100 percent of us selecting the Bengals in Week 1, to 82% in Week 2, to now less than 50% in Week 3. One team we do have confidence in is the Patriots, who have been selected unanimously by the Cincy Jungle contributors for the third straight week. The Dolphins (at the Jets) and the Raiders (at 49ers) are our other unanimous picks for the week, with the Buccaneers, Eagles, and Cowboys coming in with near unanimous support.
