Through just two weeks into the new year, Bengals fans’ heads have to be spinning. After thinking that the club was moving on from Marvin Lewis, he was re-signed to a two-year contract to remain in Cincinnati through 2019.
Where the majority of the changes have appeared to take place is in the assistant coaching ranks. There are new faces at defensive coordinator, as well as positional roles at quarterback and offensive line. Is this enough to push the Bengals over the hump in 2018?
Scott Schulze and I discussed a number of topics this week—including our fielding of a number of questions from our listeners.
- Some fans aren’t high on the hiring of Teryl Austin. We talk about the reasons to be fired up about the change at defensive coordinator.
- What are the pros and cons of having former Bengals players come in and coach specific units?
- Does the allowance of long time offensive line coach, Paul Alexander, show that Marvin Lewis grabbed more power from Mike Brown in these recent negotiations?
- As we currently sit here in January, is offensive line the definitive pick at No. 12 overall?
We talk about these topics and much more on this week’s show. You can join us live every episode here at Cincy Jungle and via YouTube to chat with other Bengals fans.
