With little help from their offense, the Bengals defense has held their own, despite suffering a multitude of injuries.
All in the fourth quarter: Defensive end Carlos Dunlap suffered an ankle injury, and cornerbacks William Jackson and Dre Kirkpatrick each briefly left the game with injuries of their own.
There is nobody healthy on this Bengals defense. Carlos Dunlap went out. WJ3 down after that last play. Dre Kirkpatrick on a knee. Vigil, Williams, Dennard already out. Wow.— Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr) October 14, 2018
All three players returned to the game, but the onslaught of injuries have really hurt the Bengals defense getting off the field. Several backups have played significant snaps due to the injuries the unit has suffered.
Now the defense has a one-point lead to protect with just over a minute to play. Hopefully their health prevails.
