Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict may be in violation of more NFL rules, fresh off his two-game PED suspension.
This time, Burfict is under the microscope for several plays that happened during Sunday’s game between the Bengals and Steelers.
By now, you probably know about Burfict’s hit on the helmet of Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. That initially wasn’t expected to land Burfict a suspension, but a fine was possible.
Now, it looks like there were other plays in question that happened on Sunday that have the NFL taking a closer look.
NFL is reviewing three plays that involved Bengals’ LB Vontaze Burfict from Sunday’s Pittsburgh-Cincinnati game to determine appropriate level of discipline, per source. One was an elbow on Antonio Brown, and two others were Burfict leading led with his helmet.

Because there are now multiple plays being reviewed, the threat of Burfict being suspended becomes more possible. It’s easy to chalk up one questionable hit as something that deserves just a fine.
But if the league determines Burfict had as many as three illegal hits on Sunday, then he’s going to get a hefty fine at the very least, and a suspension is very possible.
Because Burfict has already been suspended multiple times for player-safety violations, the NFL isn’t going to show him any leniency if they determine he had one or more violations on Sunday.
We will update this story as more details come out.
