Bengals News (10/24): A few home games is just what the doctor ordered for Cincinnati

The Bengals have been road warriors for these first few weeks, so it is time to get ready for a few home stands.

Hobson's Choice: Homestand To The Rescue
I had them 10-6 and I think they can get there. It’s not exactly a killer PBS sked. There are home games against four teams with a combined record of 9-16-1 (Bucs, Browns, Broncos and Raiders), so if they split the remaining road games (Baltimore, L.A. Chargers, Cleveland and Pittsburgh) while winning the games they should win at home, that’s 10.

Bengals Moves Put Another TE On IR
The Bengals signed tight end Jordan Franks off the practice squad Tuesday while placing tight end Mason Schreck on the Reserve/Injured list, and signing linebacker Brandon Bell to the practice squad. Schreck, believed to have torn his ACL Sunday night, joins starting tight end Tyler Eifert (ankle) on season-ending injured reserve while tight end Tyler Kroft (foot) figures to be lost until after the Nov. 4 bye and has missed the last two games.

Game Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals look to regroup after losing 45-10 to the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday night at Arrowhead Stadium. The 35-point losing margin was Cincinnati’s largest since the team lost 37-0 to the N.Y. Jets at The Meadowlands in the 2009 regular-season finale, and the Chiefs’ 45 points were the most scored against the Bengals since the Buffalo Bills won 49-31 at Paul Brown Stadium in Game 10 of the 2010 season.

Eric Reid grievance against Bengals denied by arbitrator
The NFLPA had argued the Bengals based their decision to pass on Reid solely on his answer to the question about the anthem. The union believed it was a precondition of employment that violated the CBA, particularly since the NFL had yet to institute its anthem policy requiring players to either stand on the sideline during the anthem or remain in the locker room. The league then put that policy on hold in July while continuing conversations with the players on a resolution to the issue. The sides have yet to reach an agreement on a new policy.

It’s time for the Cincinnati Bengals to give Dez Bryant a call
The Bengals went to Kansas City in Week 7 and mustered a paltry 10 points against one of the league’s worst defenses, a unit that average 26 points allowed per game. Every opponent the Chiefs have faced so far, from 1-6 San Francisco to middling Denver and Jacksonville teams, has put up more points.

The Cincinnati Bengals signed tight end Jordan Franks off the practice squad today to replace Mason Schreck, who was placed on the reserve/injured list.

Dehydration is the most well-known cause, but there's also irritation of the stomach lining, a decrease in blood sugar, immune system reactions, the mysterious effects of congeners (like the tannin in wine) and the simple fact that you stayed up late, slept poorly and ingested lots of hard-to-digest goodies.
