Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick injures achilles vs. Buccaneers

New, comments

The Bengals’ secondary took another hit, but Dre Kirkpatrick did return while dealing with his achilles injury.

Update: Despite his doubtful to return designation, Dre Kirkpatrick has returned to the Bengals vs. Buccaneers game with his achilles injury.

After the game, he said it was sore, but he was able to play through it.

The Bengals’ defense just took another hit as cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick suffered an achilles injury and is doubtful to return versus the Buccaneers.

This is terrible news for a Bengals defense that’s badly banged up and is already without slot cornerback Darqueze Dennard. If there’s any bright side, it’s that the Bengals have a Week 9 bye.

The Bengals also lost defensive end Carl Lawson and left guard Clint Boling versus the Buccaneers. C.J. Uzomah was also being evaluated for a shoulder injury.

The Bengals are winning 27-16 as of the injury to Kirkpatrick. His doubtful designation is not a good sign and it’s even worse that it came so immediately.
