Will the Bengals have their top two backs against the Dolphins?

As the Bengals get one running back, they may have lost another.

Joe Mixon made his return to the practice field on Wednesday, and it looks like he’ll be good to go Sunday when the Dolphins come to Paul Brown Stadium. However, he was only a limited participant Wednesday, so it’s not a done deal just yet.

As for Giovani Bernard, he didn’t even practice Wednesday due to a lingering knee issue. He’s been on the injury report for several weeks now, though he has yet to miss a game.

Preston Brown now has a shoulder injury he’s dealing with and was limited Wednesday. He missed two games due to an ankle injury. Alex Redmond also popped up on the injury report with a shoulder issue as he was limited. Hopefully, both of these are minor and they’ll be good to go Sunday.

John Ross managed to get in a limited session after injuring his groin in Atlanta. He’ll be one of the more interesting players to watch in practice this week.

Billy Price is out for at least two more weeks and didn’t practice Wednesday.

On the other side, the Dolphins had starters Danny Amendola, AJ Derby, Cameron Wake and Bobby McCain unable to go Wednesday. McCain is out for a few weeks with his knee injury, which is good news for the Bengals passing game.

Starting receiver DeVante Parker returned to get in a limited practice. He’s appeared in just one game this season, and he’d be a big boost to Miami’s passing game if he plays Sunday.
