UPDATE
As suspected, it’s merely a precautionary measure for A.J. Green wearing a walking boot.
Source indicates #Bengals A.J. Green being in a boot is merely precautionary. Expectations are he will be fine.

Whew.
Another week, another injury to a key Bengals player.
This time, it’s A.J. Green, who suffered a toe injury in Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers. He suffered the injury after securing his fifth catch of the game late in the fourth quarter. He was attended to on the sideline by trainers and didn’t return after his catch got the Bengals into field-goal range.
Thankfully, Randy Bullock made the game-winning field goal, and the Bengals are now 5-3 heading into their bye week, giving Green and other injured players plenty of time to recover.
Green initially said he was fine after the injury, but on Tuesday, he was seen sporting a walking boot.
A.J. Green just came through the locker room with his right foot in a boot. He hurt it on last play Sunday. Obv, could be precautionary.

A.J. was asked about his foot after the game on Sunday. He said he thought it might be a jammed toe. https://t.co/pZrsbU7Pth

As Paul Dehner notes, this could be a precautionary measure to make sure what hopefully is a minor injury doesn’t get worse. The last thing this team can afford is to have Green not at 100 percent coming out of the bye week, especially with the Saints on deck.
Making matters worse is John Ross has been in and out of the lineup with a groin injury. The good news is Tyler Boyd has stepped up in a big way this season, but the Bengals need a healthy Ross and Green to reach their full potential, not to mention win enough games in a loaded second half of the season to just make the playoffs.
