Bengals WR A.J. Green “likely” out until December with toe injury

New, comments

This is bad news for the Bengals with two divisional games coming up this month.

The Bengals will not have wide receiver A.J. Green out on the field today against the Saints. Now, it seems they will have to wait a month before he returns.

Green’s foot injury was initially reported to sideline him for at least two games, and now it’s looking like it may take a bit longer than that. Adam Schefter is reporting that Green will likely not return to the field until sometime in December.

Here are Cincinnati’s next three games following their game against the Saints today:

It’s now looking like the Broncos game is Green’s earliest game to return, but even that is up in the air right now. Missing Green for two divisional games against the Ravens and Browns is going to hurt, but the Bengals will be the better team in both of those matchups.

Before today’s game, Green was sighted walking without a boot on his injured right foot.

Green met with Dr. Robert Anderson over the bye week to get a further prognosis on his foot injury, and this seems to outlook on his recovery time.

The Bengals only have three games for the month of November, but the wait to get their best offensive player back will be a long one regardless.

With Green out, John Ross will start in his place against the Saints, while Auden Tate is active for the first time in his NFL career.
