The oddsmakers and experts have little faith in the Bengals this week. After the Saints gave them a 51-14 beating, there isn’t too much left to believe in by anyone outside of fans. The offense needs to find a way to move the ball without A.J. Green, and Marvin Lewis has to prove he can be a defensive coordinator for the first time since becoming the Bengals head coach.

Odds

The Bengals are currently 5.5-point underdogs, according to Vegas Insider. There isn’t much faith in a team that just let the Saints drop a 50-burger on them. It also didn’t help that the Bengals starting offense only put up seven points against the Saints terrible defense either. Clearly the oddsmakers have picked up on the Bengals’ offense having major issues without A.J. Green in the lineup, which is something they will have to overcome again this week in Baltimore.

Experts’ picks

  • Fox Sports is projecting a 23.3-22.3 victory for the Bengals
  • Only two of ESPN’s 10 experts took the Bengals
  • One of SB Nations’ seven experts expect Cincinnati to win
  • CBS Sports only has one expert picking the Bengals to win
  • NFL Pick Watch, which takes into account expert picks from across the internet, only has the Bengals receiving 24 percent of the picks

It isn’t shocking to see such a lack of faith in the Bengals from the experts, as they’ve been on a rough stretch of late. However, the Ravens are coming in off a three-game losing streak of their own, and are planning to start rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson for the first time in his career.

There’s weight behind giving up on the Bengals, but against the struggling Ravens? It seems slightly disrespectful.
