The Bengals have signed defensive tackle Christian Ringo off the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad and placed defensive tackle Adolphus Washington on Reserve/Injured list.
Washington suffered a knee injury against the Saints in Week 9 and hasn’t played since.
This is Ringo’s second stint with the Bengals as he was with the team for some time in 2017. Ringo (6-1, 298; Louisiana-Lafayette) is a third-year player and originally a sixth-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2015. He was with the Packers through the 2016 season, and then spent time with the Bengals and Lions in ’17. He was inactive for one game for the Bengals last season, before being waived. This season, Ringo spent time between Dallas’ roster and practice squad, and played in one game (no statistics). For his career, Ringo has played in 15 games, and has five tackles and a forced fumble.
Washington, a third-year player who had signed with the Bengals off the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on Sept. 26, played in four games for the Bengals this season and recorded six tackles, including a sack.
This follows defensive tackle Josh Tupou being placed on IR yesterday and linebacker Preston Brown going to the injury list earlier in the week. It also follows defensive tackle Ryan Glasgow and defensive end Carl Lawson suffering season-ending torn ACLs earlier in the season. The Bengals’ front seven is incredibly banged up and this just adds to it all as Washington becomes the fifth defensive lineman on IR for the Bengals this year.
The Bengals have Ringo, Geno Atkins and Andrew Billings left at defensive tackle. Someone please get Geno bubble wrap.
