Bengals downgrade A.J. Green and Dre Kirkpatrick to doubtful vs. Browns

We have your daily dose of bad Bengals news.

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cincinnati Bengals Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Bengals have announced that starting wide receiver A.J. Green and starting cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick have been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Browns.

Green and Kirkpatrick were initially listed as questionable on the Friday injury report before the Bengals made the change following their Saturday practice. Marvin Lewis actually seemed confident Green would play on Monday, but that confidence slowly eroded during the course of the week.

The Bengals enter this Week 12 game like they have most of their recent games: extremely injured.

The team already ruled out wide receiver Josh Malone and linebacker Nick Vigil; left tackle Cordy Glenn is questionable to play as it seems he suffered a back injury against the Ravens last week. That, in addition to placing linebacker Preston Brown and defensive tackles Josh Tupou and Adolphus Washington on Injured/Reserve in the last five days.

As for the Browns, no one has been ruled our or doubtful and just tight end David Njoku and center J.C. Tretter are questionable to play.

Hopefully Green and Kirkpatrick will return next week when the Bengals take on the Broncos at home. It seems both will miss Sunday’s game against the Browns, which Browns safety Damarious Randall guarantees will be a Cleveland win without Green on-the-field.
