Geno Atkins named Week 15 NFLPA Community MVP for starting Atkins Family Week of Giving

Geno, you’re the real MVP.

In early November, Geno Atkins and his wife Kristen launched what would be known as the “Atkins Family Week of Giving” and started accepting nominations of deserving families and people in need of basic supplies, capital to support their dreams, or simply enough to enjoy the holidays.

This past week, the Atkins’ aided and assisted the dreams and aspirations of over 50 families, and the Bengals’ defensive tackle was named the Week 15 NFLPA Community MVP for all of his charitable efforts throughout the week.

The week started off with the Atkins’ sending gift cards to several families, and followed up with aiding a family going through an adoption and a young missionary.

Later in the week, supplies and bills were paid for by the Atkins’ to help out several homeless families. They even made considerable donations to a Cincinnati-based homeless program called Blessing Bags of Love, which provides cold weather essentials to the less fortunate.

The week concluded with a trip to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, were gifts were provided by Macy’s and New Era. Atkins then hosted a shopping spree at the local Macy’s the very next day.

The Atkins’ helped and provided for countless people in need this holiday season, and it was only fitting that Geno capped off the week with a three-sack performance against the Raiders, and his seventh Pro Bowl nomination.

The standard Atkins and the rest of the Bengals’ defensive line continues in Cincinnati to set is remarkable, and it something we can all smile about this time of year.
