Bengals at Steelers Wednesday injury report: Vontaze Burfict, Dre Kirkpatrick miss practice

A few notable names in one of the NFL’s most infamous rivalries may not partake in it based off Wednesday’s injury report.

Entering the final week of the season, the Bengals’ depleted roster could potentially be without a few more key players.

Vontaze Burfict (concussion) Dre Kirkpatrick (shoulder) and missed today’s practice after each player exited last Sunday’s game against the Browns. It’s entirely possible that both players will not play this Sunday against the Steelers due to their ailments, but it would be shocking to see Burfict out there after he suffered his second concussion of just this month.

The three players that did not play at all against the Browns: Tyler Boyd (knee), Jordan Evans (ankle) and Tony McRae (hamstring) remained sidelined today as well. The Bengals’ offense truly missed Boyd’s presence against the Browns, and it’s hard to see them doing much better against a Steelers’ defense that continually gives them trouble even when they’re near full strength.

The defense did see Darqueze Dennard (wrist), Christian Ringo (knee) and Shawn Williams (pectoral) participate in full today, so they should be set to play barring any setbacks either tomorrow or Friday.

As for the Steelers, they’re dealing with just a couple of injuries. Safety Sean Davis (quad) and linebacker Vince Williams (toe) were sidelined with their respective injuries. Wide receiver Antonio Brown, center Maurkice Pouncey and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger were given veteran’s days off. Running back James Conner did practice in full however, and looks to be on track to play for the first time since he injured his ankle in their Week 13 matchup against the Chargers.
