ESPN reporter thinks Marvin Lewis will move on from Bengals this offseason

It’s time.

The Bengals are struggling as much as ever under Marvin Lewis, so of course, the hot seat talk is back in full swing.

Will that actually lead to Lewis being let go this offseason?

Until it happens, Bengals fans should just assume he’ll be back, just like the other 15 years he was brought back.

Saying this, one respected ESPN reporter has a source who thinks Lewis will ultimately move on this offseason.

Josina Anderson is one of the best in the business, so if she’s got a course saying this, it carries a lot of weight. However, Lewis doesn’t deserve ‘a week or two’ to decide anything.

As soon as the season ends, Lewis should be told he’s not being brought back. He doesn’t deserve to go out on his terms. Going through three straight losing seasons after never winning a playoff game is why Mike Brown should be the one to decide that Lewis won’t be back in 2019.

If Lewis does decide to quit as Bengals head coach, it hopefully means he’ll be leaving the franchise completely and not brought back in some kind of front-office role. He’s more than worn out his welcome. It’s time for both parties to move on completely and start over.

We can only ‘hope’ that finally happens this offseason, but until it does, play it safe and ‘expect’ Lewis to be back.
