Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Josh Tupou has found himself in trouble with the law.
According to the Boulder News, Tupou was arrested Thursday after reportedly getting kicked out of a bar in downtown Boulder for being too intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of violation of a protection order, which is part of his probation after pleading guilty to third-degree assault following an altercation in Boulder in the spring of 2015. One of the conditions of his probation is that he cannot drink alcohol, which is why he was arrested on Thursday.
That incident in 2015 may have helped lead to Tupou going undrafted last year. The Bengals eventually signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado. He spent time on the practice squad and was briefly on the 53-man roster.
In his senior year at Colorado during the 2016 season, Tupou racked up 45 total tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks. NFL.com had him rated as a round 5-6 prospect going into the 2017 NFL Draft before he went undrafted.
