As April approaches, the Bengals are engaged in many different endeavors. They’re checking out the incoming rookie class, as they travel around the country, but the franchise’s main figureheads are also in Orlando for the annual owner’s meeting.
On this week’s episode of The Orange and Black Insider, Scott Schulze and I ran down the recent happenings with the club after a whirlwind first week of free agency. Here are some of the topics we touched on this week:
- Which incoming rookies have the Bengals been scheduling appointments with and which pro days have they been attending?
- Is the safety position actually needing some talent—even if it’s starting caliber? If so, what does that mean for the hefty money they have invested in the position lately?
- Is running back something they should look at with a mid-round pick? Their biggest back, Jeremy Hill, is off to New England, and there have been injuries in the careers of Giovani Bernard and Joe Mixon.
- Who are the top-five best young talents on the Bengals’ current roster? Scott and I give our lists.
